Home to an A+ education
Liberty students are zoned for award-winning and highly regarded Melissa Independent School District schools:
All Melissa ISD schools are only a short drive from Liberty, including an on-site elementary school.
Melissa consist of six campuses — one education center, three elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school — to accommodate area’s fast-growing population.
The elementary through middle schools offer a full range of standard and enhanced curriculum services. At the high school level, there’s an advanced placement program, as well as a dual-credit program with Collin County Community College.
The Academy, housed at Harry McKillop Elementary, operates the before- and after-school care program for students in kindergarten through fifth grade — providing a variety of developmentally appropriate activities. Care is provided from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. throughout the school year, with bussing available for intermediate students.
Like every Texas small town, there’s a hometown football team. Of course, there’s also a wide range of athletics, music, and activities of all kinds.
Further details, including enrollment and scheduling, can be found on each school’s website. Visit txschools.gov for the current ranking of Melissa ISD.
